The Avalon

Description: The Avalon, a small friendly and informal, family run establishment, in a peaceful location yet yards from the centre
of the enchanting village of Tintagel. Private car parking and gardens with unrivalled panoramic views of Tintagel Island, St Matriana Church, the coast and sea beyond. The Avalon guest house provides a comprehensive Breakfast Menu that aims to please taking into consideration those with special dietary needs, therefore we provide alternatives such as gluten-free and wheat free foods, we also cater for vegetarians and vegans (please advise us when booking). Most of our food produce is locally sourced from Tintagel and Cornwall and free-range and organic whenever possible. Completely renovated and refurbished by July 2006 in a contemporary style with a gothic twist offering seven en-suite rooms all with own fireplaces, LCD televisions, refreshment trays, CD clock radios, hair dryers and luxury handcrafted beds with cotton bedding. Prices from £30 to £42 per person per night.

Location: Tintagel is a magical place with all its myths and legends. This is well explained in the Visitors Ctr by means of colourful panels which deal with all aspects of Tintagel the setting of which has to be amongst the most beautiful coastal views in the country. Indeed the wildlife too is of international importance, the coastline being designated a Special Area of Conservation by Europe. The Avalon guest house is 10 minutes walk away from the Coastal Path and two minutes from the walkway that leads to Tintagel Island, Cove and Merlin's Cave. Two other attractions 5 minutes away are The Old Post Office, a medieval hall house where it was once a Post Office in Victorian times. See the National Trust website and King Arthur's Great Halls where these vast halls tell the wonderful story of King Arthur.

How to find us:
Off the A39 follow signs for Tintagel. In Tintagel turn left at the mini roundabout at King Arthur's Great Halls and follow the road through the village. The road bends right and after about 30 yards you will see our driveway to the car park on the left hand side.
