Location: Portree makes an excellent base to tour the Isle of Skye. It has many local facilities including restaurants, banks, cinema and tourist information bureau. Use Portree as a base to explore both the North and West of the Island where you can climb the Old Man of Stor with stunning views over to the mainland, or visit the Island Life and experience what life was like in days gone by. There are plenty of opportunities for walking, whether it be a gentle stroll around the bay or climbing the Cuiliing Hills, in the West there are the popular attractions of Dunvegan Castle and home of the local distillery, Talisker. When you have finished sight seeing for the day you will be welcomed home to Gleann an Ronnaich, where a comfortable night's sleep awaits you followed by a delicious home cooked breakfast in the morning.
