Description: Grand Hotel is situated on the seafront about 1 km from Hastings pier. The hotel has appeared in various films and on television, most notably featuring with Ruth Watson in the Channel Five programme ‘The Hotel Inspector’. Our balconies overlook the 2 miles of level promenade and the English Channel. In one direction you can see the cliffs of Hastings Country Park where the inshore fishing fleet and RNLI lifeboat station nestle beneath Hastings castle and the Smugglers Caves. To the west beyond the Royal Sovereign Light platform you watch golden sunsets over the white chalk cliffs of Beachy Head. The town has a new station and fast modern rail links to London Gatwick Airport, to Eurostar at Ashford and the Chunnel. There are three museums, where you can find out about the Normans, see the first television made here by Logie Baird, two vibrant theatres, lovely parks, a shopping mall and the world championship crazy golf course. Beyond, quiet country lanes will lead you into the heart of the Weald and 1066 Country. There you can explore historic Battle Abbey, Bodiam and Hever castles and Camber castle near the quaint Cinque Ports town of Rye. The well established Grand Hotel prides itself upon giving individual attention for each guest. All our rooms have digital, freeview/dvd tv’s and hospitality trays. We are on the Sussex coast midway between Dover ferries and Brighton's Royal Pavilion. The nearest airports are London Gatwick and Lydd, Kent and the much improved A21 links with the M25 about 25 miles north.
